  • Three Seneca Baseball Players Earn All-State Honors

Seneca MO- High School baseball closed the season with a strong statewide statement, as three Indians were recognized on Missouri’s Class 4 All-State baseball team. Jagger Wilson earned First Team All-State honors, while Drew Sherwood and Silas Ball were each named Second Team All-State. The selections put Seneca among the programs well represented on the statewide list and highlight the depth of talent that helped drive the Indians throughout the season. For Wilson, the First Team selection adds to a growing resume. Ozarks Sports Zone’s 2026 season preview identified him as one of the key arms expected to lead Seneca’s pitching staff, and his all-state recognition confirms the impact he made. A First Team nod is one of the highest honors a player can receive, and Wilson’s place on that list reflects both performance and respect across Missouri high school baseball. Sherwood’s Second Team All-State selection continues a standout year of recognition. Earlier coverage of postseason honors also listed him as Big 8 Player of the Year, showing how valuable he was not only to Seneca, but across the conference. His all-state honor gives Seneca another proven leader recognized at the Missouri Class 4 level. Ball’s Second Team All-State honor is just as meaningful. As a catcher, his role went beyond the box score. Ozarks Sports Zone noted before the season that Ball would handle catching duties for a pitching staff with high-level talent, and that kind of responsibility matters. Catchers help guide games, manage pitchers, and steady the defense, and Ball’s recognition shows that his work behind the plate stood out. Together, Wilson, Sherwood, and Ball give Seneca baseball three all-state honorees in one season. That is a major accomplishment for the program and a reflection of the work being done by players, coaches, and the broader baseball community in Seneca. The honors are also a reminder of what makes high school athletics special: individual achievement growing out of team success. Each player earned his name on the list, but all three also helped represent Seneca on a statewide stage. Sources: Sports Yahoo, Ozarks Sports Zone

Camp has officially come to a close, and the Seneca cheerleaders are coming home with plenty to celebrate. After days of hard work, focus, and dedication, the girls earned first place in the Gameday Cheer division. Their performance reflected the energy, school spirit, and teamwork that Seneca is proud to represent. Throughout camp, the team pushed themselves to improve, worked together, and represented Seneca with pride. Their commitment paid off in a big way, bringing home a well-earned first-place finish. In addition to the team’s success, several talented Seneca cheerleaders were recognized as All American selections. One of our own also earned the outstanding honor of being named Top All American, a major accomplishment that highlights her skill, leadership, and dedication. We are proud of these young ladies and the way they continue to represent Seneca both on and off the mat. Their success is a reflection of their hard work, their coaches’ leadership, and the strong support behind Seneca activities. Congratulations to our cheerleaders on a successful camp and an impressive first-place finish. We are Seneca. Let’s Go Indians!

The Dual Credit/Dual Enrollment (DC/DE) Scholarship will help cover the tuition and fees for students who meet program eligibility criteria. Students can submit the scholarship application and supporting documents online through the student financial aid portal and can learn more here. Seneca High School Dual Credit (taught by SHS staff) Dual credit classes allow students the opportunity to take college level classes on the SHS campus and earn both college and high school credit. Students are allowed to obtain college credit at a reduced tuition price. To be eligible for this program a student must: · Have completed his/her sophomore year of high school · Be at least 16 years of age · Have a minimum unweighted 3.0 GPA (cannot round up) · Apply and be accepted to an eligible college or university · Maintain 95% attendance Some courses also require a specific ACT score or a qualifying alternate test score. Currently Crowder College has chosen the alternate test platform of Accuplacer. Arrangements to take this test will have to be made at Crowder College. This requirement is noted in the prerequisite section of each course description. Students that participate in this program will be responsible for any and all fees incurred with their college coursework. Tuition fees are set by the college. Dual credit offerings are subject to cancellation if the minimum number of students is not met. If a class overfills, upperclassmen will take precedence. Students will receive a grade on their high school transcript as well as their college transcript. Only dual credit courses that are core subjects will be weighted (eng, math, science, soc stud). The college may have deadlines for dropping courses that differ from the high school schedule. High school schedules may only be changed within the specified time period and that may not coincide with the college schedule change dates. Colleges often have dates well into the semester to withdraw/drop a course. If a student makes this decision to drop in a Dual Credit course, they will remain in the high school class and the grade earned from the HS teacher will be on the HS transcript. The student and parent will be responsible for dropping the course at the college level. Seneca High School Dual Enrollment Dual enrollment is a program that allows students to attend classes at a local college and receive both high school and college credit. Students must attend a college that has a current dual enrollment/credit agreement with Seneca High School. To be eligible for this program a student must: · Have completed his/her sophomore year of high school · Be at least 16 years of age · Have a minimum 3.0 GPA · Apply and be accepted to an eligible college or university · Maintain 95% attendance In order to verify attendance, students will complete an attendance sheet on a weekly basis. This form must be submitted to the attendance secretary. Failure to do so will result in the student being marked absent for their college classes. On days when the student’s college classes do not meet the student must come to the high school and engage in homework or independent study related to their high school or college courses. Students enrolled in this program must take a total of six (6) classes per semester with a minimum of three classes taken on the SHS campus. Release time for dual enrollment must occur at either the beginning or end of the school day. Courses taken at the college or university level will be counted towards the student’s GPA. In order to qualify for weighted credit the college course must be a minimum three (3) hour course in English, Mathematics, Science or Social Studies. Students may not receive weighted credit for college courses in excess of the total weighted credit courses available at Seneca High School. Student will receive half (.5) a credit of high school credit for each successfully completed three (3) hour college course. Students will receive a full credit of high school credit for each successfully completed five (5) hour college course. It is the student’s responsibility to provide the counseling office with an official college transcript so that grades may be entered and credit awarded. Should a student drop a college course prior to completion the high school grade will be entered as an “F”. Students that participate in this program will be responsible for any and all fees incurred with their college coursework. Students will also be responsible for their own transportation. A copy of the student’s college class schedule must be provided to the high school counselor at the beginning of each semester. At the end of each semester the student must provide an official copy of their college transcript.
